About
The creation of A and M Safe Haven was heavily influences by the two powerhouse women I had in my life growing up. One my grandmother, Ardie, and the other my single mother Marie.
Back when I was a child I had no idea just how poor we were. My mother and grandmother teamed together to make sure my siblings and I had everything we needed. It wasn't until I was a teen that I realized just how much these two women sacrificed to make sure we had our basic needs met.
Watching women struggle to make ends meet is very near and dear to me because of my up bringing. Today, with the prices of food, childcare and rent, most have to pick and choose what to pay. This should never be a choice anyone should have to make.
At A and M Safe Haven, we have referral programs for childcare assistance, employment development, budgeting assistance, mentorships and a network of other trustworthy resources.
Our decision making process is based on the resources we have readily available. We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits.
We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
Our Mission
We are driven to pay it forward by a single goal, to empower women to soar past their current circumstance and achieve their dreams. Empowering women through education, referral programs for childcare assistance, employment development programs, budgeting/financing courses, shuttle services, mentorships and a networking of other trustworthy nonprofits to fill the gaps we do not cover.
